On marriage:
- To the question of whether or not they believe in marriage, 85% of women say “Yes, definitely!”, while only 66% of men say they plan to participate. Hmm, I wonder if that is a reflection of who is favored by the rules of engagement.
- How important is a prenup? 32% of men say somewhat or very important, versus only 26% of women. Do you see a trend here?
- When asked which sex gets screwed in divorce courts, 79% of men and 41% of women say men get screwed. 1% of men and 18% of women think women get screwed. So both sexes agree. Men get screwed. Can we update these laws now? Waddya say we make things a little more fair?
On infidelity, sex, and attraction:
- Provided their partner would never find out, 38% of men say they'd be at least somewhat likely to cheat. Only 13% of women would be somewhat likely to cheat if the roles were reversed. I wonder why!
- 12% of men are completely satisfied with their sex life and 39% are somewhat satisfied. Among women, 20% are completely, and 40% somewhat satisfied. Call the CDC! We have an epidemic on our hands!
- The top choices of sexual fantasy for men are the threesome at 37% (duh) and anal sex at 18%. Women fantasize about being dominated (37%) and sex in public (18%). Interesting parallels. Call me crazy, but I think we can work out a compromise here. Use your imagination.
- 47% of men, but only 20% of women, say they'd dump a partner who got fat. But what if you can’t dump them without giving up half your lifetime net worth? Hey look, another reason not to get married!
- When asked what age the opposite sex starts loosing their looks, 55% of men and 31% of women chose age 40 or younger. 15% of men and 23% of women said never. This only compounds the sexual appetite problem.
On online dating:
- 34% of men have met someone online. 33% of women have as well. Hey, our first relatively balanced result. I'll never knock online dating again!
On money:
- Asked how many credit cards they own, 38% of men and 47% of women said none. Apparently the survey included losers.
- 60% of men and 77% of women said they didn't have any financial plan for retirement. Same comment as above, and again women are less financially responsible.
And finally, some funny results:
- When women were asked how many dates a man should pay for in a relationship, the response of "None, the women should pay for them all" scored -1%. Of course a negative number is impossible. So I don't know if this was a typo, or if the idea of a woman paying for a date created some sort of hole in the universe!
- Oh, and I was reminded to add one more to my list of rules. When asked at what age they'd like to start a family, 57% of women chose late twenties or early thirties. The rule? Dump her when she turns 30.
- When asked what they'd change about their partner, men had plenty to choose from, including her attitude/moodiness (15%) and nagging (4%), her sexual appetite (11%), and her looks (5%). She sounds lovely. Congratulations on your engagement!
