Tips on picking up -- and getting rid of -- women

First, here's a link for some interesting tips on approaching women, written by a woman who’s made a career out of helping men pick up women. Nothing too earth-shattering here, so I'll let you click through to the original article if you're so inclined. My summary: basically, just relax and go for it.

The second set of tips, this time from a psychologist, are a bit more useful. I highly recommend taking a look at this one, if only for all the links to other useful articles on topics such as confidence, body language, and asking a woman out “indirectly.” I’ll paraphrase my favorite takeaways here:

  • Make her comfortable, by a) finding her where she’s in a comfortable situation or b) using body language (lean back, give her space).
  • Assume she likes you, and then look for confirmation. The first part is about giving yourself confidence. Then you should watch her body language for feedback on when to step on the gas or back off to make her feel more comfortable again. Positive feedback includes: feet pointed towards you, smiling, making eye contact, and continuing the conversation. Continue until you have a clear signal of disinterest. If you get it, move on and don’t look back.
  • “Women need to feel that a casual sexual experience will both be safe and pleasurable for them to consider it.” The point here is that you need to give her both, not one or the other. You’ve got to balance the two. To avoid the friend zone, “make sure you eventually lean in, make good eye contact, take up a bit more space, smile, and ask her out confidently.”
  • Build rapport and attraction. Again, this is a balancing act between making her comfortable by talking about similar interests, plain vanilla topics, and getting her juices flowing with “a little challenge or teasing.”
  • Stay relaxed. She’s looking for cues from you. If you’re comfortable, she will be too.
You’ve got to love using applied psychology to get laid!

Once you've mastered picking up women, you'll probably have bigger problems getting them to go away. If you do, use these tips from eHarmony advice, to make your girlfriend want to dump you. I don't think that's the way they were intended to be used, but who cares. We know eHarmony's founder doesn't think you should get married anyway. To summarize, when you've decided you want out, start to keep secrets, act insanely jealous, introduce her to your crazy uncle, tell her you lost your job, and act like a religious nut job. She'll dump you in no time!

Good luck my friends!
